When I run the following command:

pip install -r requirements.txt

I get the following error message during the cleanup:

Solved the issue by first installing libevent-dev:

sudo apt-get install libevent-dev

and then running the install as sudo:

sudo pip install -r requirements.txt

Oh yeah, also need nose to be installed:

sudo pip install nose
